The Notebook Essay - 1022 Words

The Notebook is one of my favorite love movies of all time. The reason I love this movie so much is because that main characters Noah and Allie go through so many trials and finally end up together in the end. This movie I feel shows me how strong their love for each other really was and I now feel as if it is meant to be it will always find a way. Looking at the movie as a reference to get a better understanding of how lifespan development works, I realized that most of the trials that Noah and Allie went though were part of stages of development. The theory of stages of development was created by Erik Erikson, he believes that we go though certain stages in our life and if we do not get passed them properly we will end up with†¦show more content†¦Feeling happy about their choices in life I feel lead to a peaceful death because they had everything they ever wanted which was each other. In the middle of the movie Noah finds out by Allie mother that Allie and her parents wan t her to go to school in New York. I believe this to be stage five identity vs. identity confusion which happens during the adolescence part of people lives. Allie was trying to figure out who she really was. Allie did everything her parents told her to do because she wanted to please and make them proud of her. When Noah came along I think things changed for her because she was able to be herself around him and she was able to see what she really wanted. I think that trying to be someone for her parents led her to be confused about whom she was and what she wanted. I think that Noah had a better sense of who he was because he had to grow up a lot faster by this I mean he helped his father with the bills and he felt like a responsible adult. When Allie walked into Noah life he knew that he wanted to proved and be with her and let her go and grow in college while he worked. He thought that Allie wanted to go to school closer to where he was so that they can stay together.
